David Smith

David F. Smith has over 20 years experience in retail real estate development leasing. Founding SRA’s new project development leasing in 2001 with Evergreen Walk at Buckland Hills, the retail village had a very successful opening in the Fall of 2004. David’s current activities are exclusively focused on creating the industry’s leading developments and retail facilities by combining the best lifestyle centers, new urbanism, main streets, and mixed use projects, in addition to the constant evolution of traditional shopping centers. SRA’s development leasing consistently adapts to meet the needs of our clients and partners/retailers, developers, financial supporters, communities, and today’s ever changing consumer.

Prior to SRA, David led the leasing of General Growth’s (Homart Development) northeast shopping center portfolio, creating over $500 million in new value via new developments, re-developments, expansions, and re-leasing of regional malls and strip centers. Prior to General Growth, David held positions with The Pyramid Companies (leasing representative to leasing director), The Cooperman Company, and JMB.

David has a Master of Business Administration from Babson College, a Bachelor of Science from Northeastern University, and is an active New England planning committee member of the International Council of Shopping Centers.

SRA’s new project leasing currently has two projects under construction, three soon to break ground, three in late stages of pre-construction development, and others in the development pipeline.
